Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice. The property has been given a substantial upgrade and it's a big improvement on the previous owners.

The whole experience was beyond expectation. We had an upgrade for the room and had a wonderful suite. The meal in the evening was exceptional if a little expensive. We enjoyed the guided walk in the gardens in the morning.

It’s a very pretty village and there are some great pubs and places to eat . It has great access to good walks by the Thame. There is a little shop which has everything you might need if visiting . The abbey is wonderful to see and often has various things going on .

Unfortunately we arrived quite late so not really able to explore the village, though we did have a walk around the grounds of the Abbey. We would have liked to visit the Astin Martin museum though found out it was actually closed on Sundays. Will definitely visit the area again, perhaps in the warmer months.

Very interesting historic village.
Very interesting historic village. Little through traffic thanks to the bypass so quiet. Dorchester Abbey is well worth a visit. Lovely walks all around, lots of footpath signs. A 10 minute easy walk brings you to the bypass where you can catch a frequent bus service into Oxford/Wallingford, and the buses run until early morning!

It was our first visit there and we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful this village was, full of old traditional charm and quaint cottage style houses. There were a few pubs there offering a variety of food and drinks. We really enjoyed the fish platter at The George Inn as their Friday offer. We had a pleasant walk around the village and visited the Old Abbey.

Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Food was very good - much better than the printed menus would suggest, and great value.
Bedroom was beautiful (Poirot room) and contained everything you could wish for, including large bottles of good quality toiletries, and a coffee maker. Obviously well planned; great lighting and mirrors, with plentiful storage.
Fantastic location -opposite the Abbey/Church in a pretty village close to Oxford, Thame, Wallingford and many "Midsomer Murders" villages.
The minimal staff and owner were lovely, helpful and friendly.
This establishment has so much potential but needs to address staffing situation. There was a long list of staff vacancies in the toilets which clearly speaks volumes.
Our room was super and clean. Great shower and tea/coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed. Beautiful location. We would go again as long as we were assured of a decent menu... and a chef!
An excellent hotel in a beautiful village, The George provided a lovely bedroom with plenty of space and lovely furnishings. The restaurant was nicely laid out and the menu was good, portions too large for us though! Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it. Management and staff helped to make our stay a pleasure too, thank you
All the basics were fine. Apparently the Chef had recently walked out so there were no evening meals available which forced us into the George Hotel just up the road where the food and service was excellent so this turned out to be a blessing in disguise
It was overall reasonable value for money
Excellent location for a walk along the Thames Path. I was able to dry my tee shirt and socks overnight. Dorchester is a lovely little town, and I was delighted to find the Abbey open when I arrived at 5 pm. An interesting dinner menu, with a Greek focus, and I enjoyed a tasty moussaka.
A beautifully redone inn. The staff (and particularly Amy the manager) were excellent. Absolutely delightful way to enjoy history and heritage in a small English village. The rooms are comfortable well appointed could not ask for more. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Beautiful, quaint hotel in a small village near to Abingdon. Not too far off the A34, so really convenient for us to break our journey further north. Great value for money. Room was comfortable, breakfast was tasty, staff were really friendly.
We liked the friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere in the hotel. We had dinner twice and breakfast twice and they were all excellent. The menu changed both evenings , was well cooked and very tasty.
Breakfast was excellent!!!, many choices and good different options. great service. I would go back if I need an hotel in same area. I will recommend this hotel to y friends and family.
Breakfast and dinner were both amazing. Convenient parking. Ground floor room in stables as requested. Perfect location for Oxfordshire if you have a car.
