Location was brilliant for what I needed. Quaint place, with accommodation behind the main building. Plenty of parking, nice views across the stream and fields. On a main road which is probably the only downside, but to be fair the traffic noise was only a hum when in the room and didn't disturb me as I thought it might.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were spotless, with complimentary water, biscuits and chocolates (nice touch) There was a proper hair dryer in the room, not one of these silly hotel ones where you have to hold the button in and the cord is so short you break your neck. Fresh milk was available on request. Bathroom was modern and beautiful, with a waterfall shower and plenty of room to do a jig. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in. I travel a lot for work and struggle with sleep, but this one had me out for the count in no time and I reckon I had one of the best nights sleep ever whilst away from home (huge compliment from me).
Food-
Dinner was just lovely. I had the special of Gerry's beef and venison pie. I'm not normally a pie person, but Gerry is my favourite uncles name and it appealed to me as he is a great chef/cook. This pie did not disappoint. Fully encased pastry pie, with potatoes and fresh veg. Totally delicious and hit the spot after a long drive.
Breakfast was just as good, with the freshest continental I have had, and a great selection of fruits. I opted for what I thought was a light cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs and salmon. Nope......although it looked delicate and presented beautifully it filled me up and then some. A tower of eggs on a bagel with pieces of salmon running through, topped with a large sliver of salmon to finish. Totally delicious and set me right for my long day ahead.
Thankyou Talbot in for making this lone female traveller feel welcome, safe , and looked after. If I am ever in the area again....I will be back.

Excellent location. Charming hotel a tad noisy from the street below, and we could hear and feel the movement of people in the hall, however the place is old and one should expect that these older houses are not built to today's expected noise elimination standards. Overall can recommend for a few nights stay in Oxford.
Eynsham is a very pleasant village. Wonderful independent wine store with exceptional range and real expertise. Good cafes and a few nice independent shops and pubs. Very handy for Oxford and good walking nearby.

Very attractive pub with lovely, quiet, comfortable rooms.
Very attractive pub with lovely, quiet, comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful - always smiling. Breakfast was excellent. I also ate dinner in the hotel which was obviously popular with locals and had a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We stayed overnight at the Talbot Inn when going to the Nocturne series at Blenheim Palace. We had lunch and breakfast and both were cooked/presented beautifully. The hosts and staff were very welcoming, and helped us book a local taxi over to Blenheim. The room looked as if it had just been renovated; everything was well designed and laid out, and clean. It is located right by the river, on the outskirts of Eynsham village. We heard a cuckoo calling us on a walk by the river before we left!
This is a family run pub / hotel, all of the family are involved and they make you very welcome and provide excellent service on all counts
The food is superb, rooms are modern, well furnished, and extremely clean.
We arrived by car and explored the local villages by car also , but we used the local bus to get into Oxford. The bus stop is right outside and takes you into the city centre
Breakfast was superb, freshly cooked and the service was excellent . the hotel was situated close to the rd but traffic noise was not an issue, There was a lovely decked area over looking the canal . The room was very well serviced and imacuate .
complementary toiletries , tea, coffee , bottled water and biscuits were most welcome additions .
Comfortable, clean accommodation in newly renovated annexe rooms adjacent to the inn. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the evening, joined by friends, and breakfast in the morning. All food was fresh, well cooked and well presented. Overall one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Would highly recommend.
We booked this hotel very last minute to break our long journey home and were pleasantly surprised at finding this gem. Just outside of Oxford off the A34, it was conveniently situated and very comfortable. We didn't have dinner in the pub as we arrived too late, but breakfast was delicious. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent customer care, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food delicious and gluten friendly. Chef adapted ingredients to suit. Menu was great. The staff make this place special.
Room was lovely, clean and spacious
Good location, bustop close by for direct route to Oxford and just 10 min walk into village of Eynsham.
The staff are top-notch, very friendly and informative. Many choices of hot breakfast cooked to order, all tasted delicious. We also had dinner twice, both times excellent.
Also, the location is excellent as our base to explore the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the Coltword.
The Location right in the centre of Eynsham Village. It was quiet and peaceful. There was a cozy, if not old-fashioned lounge that guests could use. We didn't use them, but there were convenient bus stops near by to central Oxford and a couple of other local Towns.
In a lovely location by Eynsham lock, lovely walks, hosts and staff were excellent, delicious breakfast and excellent coffee, spotless, will definitely stay again, evening meal was also lovely.
