The staff were really helpful and attentive. Even making sure we got the wedding guests rate breakfast was amazing

The hotel was better than expected but the staff were amazing and really made it a memorable stay for the kids which is what it was all about. We stayed here prior to going to Legoland the next day.
Lovely lady in reception made effort to engage with the kids and gave them each a hot chocolate before bed. Then at breakfast, there was an amazing make colleague who really made breakfast time special for the kids!

Stayed in the stables, with parking just out side the room. The view from our room overlooked a lawn and church, and was very quiet. The bar staff were excellent and knowledgeable about the building.

Amazing English pub with beautifully appointed rooms that maintained their charm. Room was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom was large with all the products you would need. Excellent tea, coffee, water, chocolates and a nip of gin! The breakfast was great - eggs Benedict one day and avocado on toast the next.

Lovely big car park and nice looking property. Decent sized room, but would have loved to see some colour, perhaps in cushions and a few pictures as it was a bit bland. Climb into the bath to shower with a shower curtain, never our favourite. All just a bit tired, with a strangely bumpy floor. However, the price was reasonable and we didn’t pay for luxury.

Very central for dinner at Heckfield Place if you don't want...
Very central for dinner at Heckfield Place if you don't want to pay a ludicrous amount to stay there! The New Inn is about a mile from Heckfield Place but the busy road means it is not recommended to walk. The beds would benefit from a 'Topper' as the mattress was a little uncomfortable. The price for the room was exceedingly low for all the amenities you would expect in a hotel room.

The accommodation needs improving, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and actually made the stay painful, woke up with stiff neck and sore. The bathroom was clean but dated.
We were on a cycling trip in the area with our son. It was everything we needed. Friendly and attentive service, good quality fresh food hot food (nothing reheated in a microwave, tasty cooked to order hot breakfast, good parking ......all in all a very good stay and would return if in the area again.
Take a drive to Hazeley Heath .....a lovely place to walk and cycle and great to take a drink and snack up to at sunset. Swinley Forest about 28 mins away with all it MTB cycling routes and plenty of other things to do in the area.
Loved this hotel! The service was amazing throughout. The rooms are well equipped and the hotel is taking sustainability seriously, no single use plastic. There is a nice bar area and a lovely restaurant. The food was really good. I had the cheese soufflé and pea and mint risotto, my husband had chicken. All dishes were perfect. The desserts are not to be missed! For breakfast my husband had the full English and said it was great. Could not fault this hotel, highly recommend it. They also have facilities for business meetings.
Pleasantly surprised by nicely renovated rooms. Although quite small, the first room we stayed in had a large American king size bed (UK king is American queen), comfortable layout and excellent shower. Immaculately clean and we slept well. Window opened to a lovely view of adjacent field. Hotel staff, particularly a woman from Canada whose name escapes me, are quite friendly and hospitable. We were going to the Reading town centre for dinner and she recommended an excellent resto.
Our room was very spacious and well decorated and the bathroom was beautiful. Lovely big fluffy towels and a comfy bed with crisp fresh linen. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as well as the restaurant staff, where we had dinner, which was very good. The breakfast was also exceptional in our opinion. We had a lovely stay at the Wellington Arms and it was excellent value for money, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
The hotel was in a good location; it was pretty, clean and olde-world in style whilst being run efficiently, but with cheerfulness and the right level of personal touch.
The room was stylish and lovely; plenty of storage, seating, and spacious, with good views and was well earned with a radiator.
The food - both breakfast and evening meal - were cooked well, served promptly, and tasted as good as one might hope for.
I have stayed at the Wellington Arms several times when we host events locally. We have brought some very high profile guests but in recent visits, the hotel standard is really in decline.
Good size, comfortable room and quiet room at the back of the hotel (room1) with a great shower! Covid secure. Excellent breakfast and dinner each day. And such an afffordable price.
Amazing friendly staff, lovely cosy rooms, we had a nice view too. Fabulous value for money, am already booking to stay in one of their other hotels as our stay was so enjoyable.
